Search for Walleye on Deep Water Breaks, Extended points……
Start you search for walleye on deep water breaks, extended points, inside or outside turns, and shore line breaks that drop quickly into deep water. With fall approaching, a general rule of 15 to 35 feet is a good starting point. When using a jig and minnow presentation, stay vertical so you can stay in touch with the bottom. A lift and drop method seems to work best. For the type of minnow, fat heads are good especially if they are fresh and of the larger size. Look for Northern Pike to be active in 15 to 20 foot weeds taking spoons, while bass are active in 8 to 15 foot weeds. Crappies can be found in 15 to 20 foot depths suspended over the weeds hitting crappie minnows and small jigs. For sunfish, use crawlers or wax worms at the 10 to 15 foot weed lines.
